Can I use Gem’s Dry Skin Balm whilst I’m pregnant?
Ingredients Thumb

Gem’s Dry Skin Balm contains very small quantities of the following essential oils – neroli, rose bulgaria, galbanum & geranium, these oils have been carefully selected to have a healing effect on dry skin conditions.

Most essential oils are perfectly safe to use during pregnancy and indeed can have many beneficial effects. However it is always wise to carry out your own research before deciding if using these oils are right for you. As with most products, I would not recommend the use of essential oils during the first three months of pregnancy.

Can I use Gem’s Dry Skin Balm on Psoriasis?
Ingredients Thumb

The general feedback about my balm for psoriasis has been that it helps contain areas, stops flaking and due to the beeswax base, hydrates the skin for much longer than other creams they have tried.

I even have some customers who claim it clears up their psoriasis. One testimonial on Amazon reads:

‘I periodically get a horrid form of psoriasis which looks like cigarette burns all over my body and is itchy and flaky. It takes months to go and I have previously been prescribed steroids and various emollients as well as being ‘cooked’ for up to 25 mins a time 3 times a week for 2 months in an NHS tanning machine – great for the tan but takes an age to improve the skin. It’s really depressing. I’ve just had a flare up and have a family wedding coming up and been desperate about how to cover up. I started using Gems cream properly on it 2 weeks ago and already it has faded so much it’s barely noticeable. It seems to have stopped any more spots appearing and there is no itch at all! Nothing has ever worked like this.’

Can I use Gem’s Dry Skin Balm on Rosacea?
Ingredients Thumb

I have lots of people using my balm on rosacea, the general feedback is that is reduces inflammation, hydrates and calms the skin.

It may help to have a read of what Fiona has to say who I met at my Portobello stall last year:

“My rosacea’s hormonal and has given me quite large red patches on my face, cheeks and forehead, which become very angry and even scaly at times, as the skin dries out badly and flakes away. Your cream hasn’t been able to help with reducing the dilation of veins below the skin that cause the redness, of course, but it’s helped enormously to hydrate the skin, make the dryness a thing of the past and restore suppleness to my facial skin, which has been fantastic: so few creams have been able to help. The hydration in turn has soothed the inflammation, so my face is very much calmer. So I’m very pleased to have stumbled across it and will recommend it to anyone with a dry skin condition.”

Can I use Gem’s Dry Skin Balm as a face moisturiser?
Ingredients Thumb

My balm is an ointment and has a beeswax base, therefore it has a waxy, hard consistency. I have never changed this recipe as it works brilliantly on dry, sore skin.

If you were to use it as a general moisturiser for your face, I would not recommend it as it’s quite heavy. If, however, you were using it for dry skin on your face then I would definitely recommend it and would apply it at night time. I use it at night time so it moisturises my skin overnight.

Is Gem’s Dry Skin Balm safe to use around the eye area?
Ingredients Thumb

I have lots of people using it on sore patches around the eyes. Obviously, as with all products, you need to be careful of having anything near the eyes as it may cause irritation.

Does Gem’s Dry Skin Balm work on allergy prone skin?
Ingredients Thumb

I have people with all sorts of skin ailments using my balm, such as eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and allergy prone skin.

Every single ingredient has healing properties aimed at soothing sore, itchy skin and there are no added chemicals, preservatives or alcohols which can irritate the skin.

It all depends on whether you may have a reaction to something in the cream, as I’m sure you are aware. I always recommend you consult a dermatologist to find out exactly what your skin is allergic too. I also highly recommend homeopaths
